CRT Track day

Participants who ride the TT Circuit Assen for the first time, or who participate in a CRT track day for the first time, will be placed in the less experienced group. This has nothing to do
with speed, but everything to do with safety and rules of conduct.

Depending on the offer of participants on the relevant day, the following target times are used for the other groups.
The reference is the lap time ridden on a dry TT Circuit Assen.

  • experienced group: lap time TT Circuit Assen: laptime ± 2.20.0 min.
  • sportrijders: lap time TT Circuit Assen: laptime between 1.55.0 min. and 2.20.0 min.
  • SportGridTime: lap time TT Circuit Assen: laptime faster than 1.55.0 min.

Timekeeping, safety-cars, permanent video surveillance, racecontrol and extensive medical facilities belong to the firm components on each CRT track day.
After all CRT, her relations and the TT Circuit Assen stand for optimal quality and safety standards.

LESS EXPERIENCED GROUP - 5 sessions

This group includes riders who have never ridden on the TT Circuit Assen before and riders who want to gain even more experience before moving on to the experienced group.
In the less experienced group the participants are guided by CRT instructors in all their 5 sessions and they ride the 1st, 2nd and 3rd session behind their group instructor. After the
first 2 laps in the 4th and 5th session it is free riding for the participants in less experienced group. Participants in the less experienced group receive an explanation by means of
a video presentation and an extra theory session in the media center.
After each session there is a short evaluation in the parc-fermé by the group instructor.
At the closing all participants receive a CRT certificate of participation by name.
Live timing is available during the CRT day via the CRT site under the Live timing button. After the event the lap times are available via the CRT site under the Results button.

EXPERIENCED GROUP - 5 sessions

In the experienced group the participants are riding in all their 5 sessions under supervision of CRT instructors. They are riding the 1st end 2nd session behind their group instructor.
In the 3th, 4th and 5th session the instructor leads 2 laps, the remaining time of the session is free riding. After every practice session is given a short evaluation in the parc-fermé
by the group instructor.
Live timing is available during the CRT day via the CRT site under the Live timing button. After the event the lap times are available via the CRT site under the Results button.

SUPERVISION

The supervision by CRT instructors in the less experienced and experienced groups, both on and off the track, is included in the registration fee. Supervision for these groups is
included in the registration fee as standard so you do not have to pay extra for this.

EVALUATION

During CRT track days at the TT Circuit Assen, after each session in the less experienced and experienced group, an evaluation takes place by the CRT group instructor in the parc-fermé.

SPORTRIJDERS - FREE RIDING - 5 sessions

The group Sportrijders is for participants who have ridden a CRT track day before but who find the SportGridTime sessions a step too high. Sportrijders are not accompanied by CRT instructors and will ride 5 sessions "free riding" in accordance with rules of conduct and protocols that apply on CRT track days.
On several CRT track days CRT uses "free riding" groups which are classified based on lap times. Means that participants in these groups have track experience, otherwise you cannot enter a lap time when registering. Furthermore, these participants are familiar with protocols and rules of conduct that apply to CRT track days. If you do not have track experience, you cannot register for the Sportrijders and free riding groups.

SPORTGRIDTIME - FREE RIDING

Only experienced track riders and riders with a racing license have the possibility to register for SportGridTime sessions (SGT). These SGT sessions are not guided by CRT instructors.
On a few CRT trackdays 2 groups of SGT are planned namely:
- fixed SGT group which rides 5 sessions
- group for which one can book from 1 to 5 sessions SGT

Personal CRT-tag timekeeping

When registering in the media center the participant who participates for the first time in CRT track days will receive the CRT-tag. This CRT-tag is unique, is your property and is stored in the CRT database under the name of the participant. The CRT-tag can be used on all CRT track days.
Cost of purchasing a new CRT-tag in the event of loss or damage is € 10,00. This CRT-tag is not in use during IDC races.

GPS transponder

Starting from the 2024 season, the TT Circuit Assen will work with black GPS transponders during track days to monitor movements of all participating vehicles. GPS transmitters are used to monitor the live position of all participants. As soon as a vehicle stalls, or is involved in an accident, Race Control immediately receives info
on the start number and position of the participant(s) involved and assistance is immediately directed from Race Control.

CRT motorbike race-licence course - 5 sessions

CRT also organizes the CRT motorbike race-license course for obtaining your IDC license. After successfully completing this course you can apply for your IDC year- or day license and start racing in the popular International Dutch Championship series or at the Ducati Club Races.
The CRT motorbike race-license course consists of 5 sessions including multiple test starts plus a simulation of an IDC race. Each session is followed by a theory session. There is a written exam in which the meaning of the flag codes is asked.

The race license course is supervised by CRT instructors on and off the track.
The CRT motorbike race-licence course is on Friday 5 April 2024.
There are several organizers of motor races which recognize the CRT motorbike race-licence course for participation in the races organised by them.

MOTORBIKE CLOTHING

Participation in a CRT track day requires riding in protective leather clothing, or equivalent material, boots, gloves and a helmet provided with ECE 22.05 or ECE. 22.06 approval mark.. The use of a helmet with double D-fastener and back protector is strongly recommended. For participants who do not have the right motorbike clothing it is possible to rent a leather motorbike suit and back protector from the CRT service unit at the paddock.

REGISTRATION

Please note that registrations are personal. Should you be unable to attend at the last minute but have a replacement, please contact CRT. A participant is not allowed to give or sell his or her practice session to another person without informing the organisation and obtaining their approval. Failure to comply with this rule may result in exclusion from the event without refund of the registration fee.
Start numbers, which have not been collected 20 minutes before the start of CRT practice session 1, or of the first SportGridTime session to be ridden, will be forfeited to CRT without refund of the registration fee.

PAYMENT CRT EVENTS

Upon registration, there are 2 options for payment of your track day.
1. Ideal: the amount must be paid 4 weeks before the date of your event. If not, your registration will be deleted and we will place someone from the waiting list.
2. Other: you can download the invoice in your account,. Please ensure that the invoice is transferred to the CRT account 4 weeks before the date of your event quoting the invoice number. If not your registration will be deleted and we will place someone from the waiting list.
In case of cancellation a € 25,00 administration fee will be charged.
If the CRT day is cancelled due to force majeure (bad weather, oil on the track, etc.), no refund will be made by the organiser.

INSURANCE

Riding on the TT Circuit Assen is at your own risk, you are not insured by the organisation for physical injury or damage to your motorbike. We advise you to check with your insurance company whether your motorbike is insured or not.

Entry fee CRT track day

The entry fee for the CRT track day includes start number, CRT tag and CRT certificate of participation in your name for participants in the less experienced group. Entry fee less experienced and experienced group includes guidance by CRT certified instructors.
Registration is from 07.30 - 07.50 hrs in the media centre on the 1st floor.
